Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These terms govern the use of Paylio, provided by Paylio (Pty) Ltd (Registration No. 2026/459411/07). By using Paylio, the school ("you") agrees to them.

The service

Paylio provides payroll, HR and related tools for schools, through a web app and through WhatsApp.

Accounts and authorised users

You decide who may use Paylio on your behalf and what each person may do. You are responsible for keeping your user list current and for activity under your account.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, for reviewing payroll before it is finalised, and for submitting returns and payments to SARS and other authorities on time. Paylio is a tool to support these tasks. It does not replace your own review or professional advice.

Fees

Fees are as shown on our pricing page or in your agreement with us, payable monthly in advance. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any fee change.

Data protection

We process your staff's personal information as your operator under POPIA, as set out in our Privacy Policy and in our operator agreement with you.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp features rely on Meta and Twilio. We are not responsible for interruptions to those services. You must obtain your staff's consent before adding their numbers to Paylio.

Availability

We work to keep Paylio available and accurate, but the service is provided as is, and we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Ending the service

Either party may cancel with 30 days' written notice. On cancellation, you may export your data within 30 days, after which we will delete it unless the law requires us to keep it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
